When
a customer is dealing with a loan officer here, does that client always
get his or her cell phone number?
Not only their cell phone number, but
also their office contact information. The goal for the loan consultant
is to be available to the customer at all times, 24/7, within
reasonable boundaries. Obviously, at 4:30 in the morning, we're not guaranteeing
the loan officer will answer the cell phone. But if it's 8 o'clock at
night, if there's a problem or a question to be addressed, it is the goal
of every loan officer and consultant at this company to be available.
What else
do you think we ought to put on this website that we haven't already covered?
(Looooong pause) I dunno, I think we've
done a pretty thorough job.
Here's the truth, Mike, it's typical
in this business, across the board in this business, all the money comes
from the same companies. And all the loans wind up in the same place.
So we're effectively all selling the same product. There are minor discrepancies
in rate.
For honest mortgage banks and brokers,
there can be discrepancies, but the trick is to distinguish yourself.
Why are we different from the mortgage shop in that building across the
street? I believe the overarching answer to that is we treat the customer
like they are a customer for life. We transact business with them in a
manner that ensures that they come back to us again and again. That's
what really distinguishes us.
We are all about being professional and
being fair and treating the customer like they are ours for life. The
other thing is the professionalism of the staff and the loan consultants
at this business, and our processor. Sonny is far and away the best processor
I've ever worked with, so everybody here has an enormous amount
of experience.
Sonny does the processing for us, which
means that he really is the key person in terms of following through and
making sure all the other people or companies involved in the transaction
get their respective jobs done. It can sometimes be a little like herding
cats, but he does an outstanding job at it.
That's something worthy of discussion.
There are a lot of folks in the mortgage business who are entry level,
who open a mortgage shop and have no idea what they're doing.
They heard there's good money in it so they get involved in the business.
And it's a guaranteed way to get your loan screwed up.
What is the average amount
of experience in the mortgage business that your people have?
Twelve years.

spoken in California. What about the Spanish-speaking customer?
We do have Spanish-speaking loan officers.
When somebody calls you, do
they get voicemail or a real person, or what?
We endeavor to have our phone answered
by a live person at all times! Unbelievably, our people do need to break
for lunch, every second or third day, but other than that, during business
hours, you're going to get a live person. If you do have to leave a message,
all calls are returned promptly.
Who shouldn't come
to you for a mortgage?
Fraud loan hucksters. Some mortgage lenders
participate in fraud schemes with borrowers, and we don't do that, under
any circumstances. We are an above-the-board, legit mortgage
company. We welcome all business without boundaries. You're going to get
a fair deal, and we're not going to participate in any fraudulent activity.
